Should the socket 370 golden orb be better than the 370 Alpha w/ hexagonal fins? At idle, the alpha is better by 2 F, but under full load the orb outperforms it by 20 F!

What is the best heat sink I can guy that will still allow me to use 3 out of the 4 memory slots on my P3V4X?

The golden orb is the best bang for the buck cooler out there imo.

Will it cool better than the 370 Alpha w/ hexagonal fins? Nope.

"At idle, the alpha is better by 2 F, but under full load the orb outperforms it by 20 F!" Something's wrong there.

"What is the best heat sink I can guy that will still allow me to use 3 out of the 4 memory slots on my P3V4X?" The Asus P34VX is a slot one motherboard.

Your obviously using a PPGA/FCPGA to Slot 1 Adapter like Iwill's Slocket II or Abit's Slotket III if your using a socket 370 cpu.

I would use an Alpha Pep66 since it mounts the fan on the side. This means when using an Alpha PEP66 with a Slocket II the fan would be sticking straight up thus not blocking any dimm slots. Of course the Alpha PEP66 is more expensive.
