Bluetooth Headset question

I've got a really stupid question.

For some reason my phone has been getting really bad reception in my room recently. It's almost impossible to have a normal conversation unless I'm standing with my face flush against the window. I'd like to talk sitting at my desk or in bed. So I've decided to invest in a bluetooth headset. I figured with this I could leave my phone near the window and roam my room freely (My phone supports Bluetooth V1.1 and my room is approx. 12'x12'). From a technical POV, is this plan feasible?

Wow, it's surprising how stupid this question sounds, but I just had to ask before dropping $60-70 on the gear.

I don't see any problems with that approach.

Yes, but make sure you read some reviews on the headset you are thinking about purchasing. Some headsets have problems once you get 5+ feet away from your phone. I think fatwallet has a deal on a Plantronics for like $42 from amazon. Do a search over there for that deal.

Not to hijack, but I just got an LG VX5300 phone. Never done the Bluetooth thing before. Anybody have a recommendation for a headset?

I heard the jabra x10 is good but pricey as is the plantronics 655. Nokia 800 is pretty good also but YMMV. You can look up reviews in Howardchui.com for various bluetooth reviews.

I highly suggest the plantronics voyager 510. It's a bit bigger but wow the range on it for my 1.1 bluetooth treo 650 has been about 20 feed through 2 walls.

If you are going for cheap try these.

They work pretty well

Do you have any static? I have a Treo 650.. and a Motorola Bluetooth , but I never use the thing cause anytime I do, it's all static and hard to hear people. They also seem to have trouble hearing me.
