Memory for Computer

I want to upgrade the amount of RAM I have. Currently I have 2 one gig PC3200 DDR400 184 pins modules. I got them from Crucial. The CL on these are 3. However I saw some from this other site. They are OCZ's and aside from everything being the same the timing is different. THe timing for these are 3-3-3-7. Does it make a difference. Can I use both of them at the same time?

That may work or may not: it will depend on your motherboard and how fussy the ram sets are. But I say they should. But to play it safe I would buy the new ram from Crucial this way your not into a crapping war if they happen to not to work together!

If one is 3-3-3-6, and the other is 3-3-3-7, it should not work unless you change settings in the bios, and I have yet to see a motherboard which allows you to change timings on an individual stick of memory (probably because that doesnt exist).
However, I have random memory in a box at home from 3 different manufacturers, probably from 3 different decades too, and it works fine, but timings were more standard back then I guess, who knows.

As reno said, buy matching sets from the same manufacturer to be
safe.

Are they going to be on different channels? If so it should work.
