Need MP3 player suggestions
The girl needs a basic 1 gig mp3 player for her marathon training. I would like to support someone who doesn't require proprietary formats or software. (Ruling out sony and apple.)
It would be nice to have a player with a built in li-ion battery, but we can always find rechargable AAAs. Ideally, I'd like the player to be drag and drop through windows explorer. Anyone out there have any suggestions?

I don't think they're drag & drop (at least none of the ones I've owned were). iRiver and Sandisk are probably your best bets for a flash player -- both are quite good. ![]()

It's drag and drop if you use the included software. The software includes an icon that acts exactly like a hard drive in your list of drives. When you open up that icon it's like any other folder on your computer. Sandisk is solid as well. Never had any experience with an iRiver. |

That's what she ended up getting (2 gb version). No drivers, just plug in and browse to it in windows explorer. Or you can use WMP's built in sync ability. Either way, I can throw out the software disk it came with. Thanks for the suggestions guys. |
