Maybe this could be best answered by you "Moderator" types... which chip, at same clock speeds and with RDRAM, has more power, the P3 or the P4?
I know that there are some non-multiplier-locked test chips out there... that is a benchmark that I would be interested in seeing Dave. |

The P3 would be faster because it does more work in one cycle than the P4 does. Thats my understanding anyway. Thats only a part of it though. Depending on the application it could be faster or slower. Take these BM's for example:

A PIII will outperform a P4 of the same speed. That is why Intel released the Pentium 4 at those high speeds.
