Intel Reportedly to Simplify Brand-Names
It might make advertising easier, but I think it will make it harder to tell if you are getting a duo or quad chipset.

After the Pentium 4 and the Athlon XP series, I totally had no clue what AMD and Intel logos meant.

My theory:
They had solo, dual-core, & quad-core, and everyone was happy. Then they realized the next one would be "sexto-core". That just doesn't sound good. So... time for a new strategy!

I think this is actually a bad idea, maybe a good move marketing wise, but I sure don't like it.
I know what I'm looking for and at, so now you have to read more into specs just to make sure it's the correct one, which 90% of the population can't / won't do. So I guess they can sell a lot more of their "Higher end Low End" stuff.. Since it Sounds like the best. |
