Toshiba Launches 320-Gbyte Notebook Hard Drive

http://www.gearlog.com/2007/08/toshi...gbyte_note.php

Quote:
Toshiba's Storage Device Division (SDD), has announced the world's first 320-Gbyte, 5,400-RPM SATA-based notebook hard drive, part of a new 5,400 RPM MK-GSX series as well as a higher-performance 7,200 RPM MK-GSY offering.
All three support the 3-Gbit/s SATA interface, and the MK-GSX series uses 120-Gbyte/platter discs. Toshiba has also built in a sensor that automatically parks the read/write head (think of the needle cradle on a record player) if the drive falls farther than 10 inches.

No word yet on which notebooks will be using these, although Toshiba's own would be a good bet.
