Buh-Bye Verizon, Hello Helio?
So my Verizon contract is finally up... I'm looking into the Helio Fin or Ocean. I plan on stopping by a local store on the way home from work to check them out, but I was curious if anyone here is a Helio subscriber. I checked out their map and I'm in a strong coverage zone, so that shouldn't be a problem...Any opinions?
Thanks folks!

Their phones look pretty nice...that's about the extent of my knowledge.

They use the Sprint network, so ya their coverage is pretty good. Their phones are pretty sleek. A co-worker uses the Helio Heat to txtmsg to Korea all the time. I'm considering getting the phone myself but apparently my company will pay for a Verizon plan, so I'm still waiting to check that out. Otherwise, I think the Helio is a good option.

Ah, nice to know that they use a bigger carrier for coverage. I'm looking at the Fin model. I wanted to stop by my local cell store to check it out, but they weren't open when I stopped by. Hoping they'll be open today (they were closed during their own business hours)! |

Their entire backbone is on the Sprint network, and personally I love my Ocean. It doesn't have a 40gb storage size, but it can do pretty much everything the iphone can. Except you know, it can handle SMS and a 3G network...unlike the iphone.
Also, they are constantly working on new features. Exchange support was just implemented (personal preference of course) and every now and then they send out alerts on new features they will be introducing soon. I love it. But that's me. And of course, the $65 / mo unlimited data plan is amazing (includes all types of data transfer, including text / browsing). |
