Hmm. Messes with the formula too much I think. Then again you have to go somewhere I suppose. We'll see how it pans out. I think I'll hang on to my 80gig 5.5gen for now.

They also announced that the 4GB iPhone is being discontinued, and the 8GB version will sell for $200 less ($399, the price of the 4GB version).

I'm bummed. I'm not going to get a Touch. I have about 37 Gigs of music, and of course whatever videos I want on top of that. And I want to have all of mine with me, because sometimes the mood hits me to listen to something I wouldn't have thought to have loaded beforehand.

At least I save $300.

Assuming you stuck mostly to wifi zones, if you're really clever you can probably stream your entire's computer library over the net with the wifi capabilities.

Oooh, you could probably stream your video (porn) library too

Hmmm. 160gig eh? Didn't see that one... I am almost full about 5-7 gigs left, I suppose I could delete a few videos though. And yes I do listen to all that music!

i'll be in for one as soon as they put real drives in them. I've almost filled my 60gb, 16 gb would be like getting a lobotomy.

Egg-zachary. What's the point of touching the screen if I can't watch all the movies or listen to all the music I want to?

This same argument has been going on with the Creative Zen player (same 16GB capacity as the iPod Touch). One argument that had been mentioned (which I fully agree with) is that it is designed partly for those who are spontaneous (or who can't decide what exactly they want to listen to).

As for me, I know I kept saying I will not touch an iPod (pun not intentional), but now I'm not so sure. I'm finding my Zen Vision: W is just too big to carry around all the time (it's bulky) and the battery life isn't all that great. Problem is, I want the iPod Classic for its large capacity, and the iPhone Touch for its big display and WiFi.

If they could stuff a 160GB drive into an iPod Classic, why the heck couldn't we have a Touch with a 60-80GB drive?

It's using flash memory to keep it's slim 0.8 cm form factor. 64 GB would be like $3K.

I cracked and nabbed one of the $299 4GB iPhones. I don't listen to music on the go (have had a SLVR with iTunes for over a year, only probably 20 or so songs for the days I go to the gym), so the size don't matta.

Wow 160GB!! I always go for the largest capacity MP3 player available. I was expecting this one to have maybe 100-120 GB. This is a huge leap. I currently have the 80GB player (full, w/ no videos) with 40GB more that I can't fit. I got it less than a year ago. Damn. Time to upgrade or should I wait out for the next iPod update.....

hm. nice.

but yep, the capacity is puny.

make the drive capacity bigger (even if its a hard drive), and i may consider buying one.

and im an ipod hater.

its just gonna be an adjustment for sausage-fingered people.

Ok i agree. Having everything on hand in case you suddenly need to rock the house with "Freaks of the Industry" well i can see it cause that has happened to me. I guess i'm just not sold on using the video part of it. I hate watching small videos. I have 2 1gb, and i do pretty well. i did have a free ipod that i put 4-5 gbs on at a time but it died before i could use it to completion.
