For the options you are wanting, I would go with the SoundBlaster Live Platinum. You will need an extra drive bay for the included Live Drive, which is where you would connect your digital and analog devices. The product specs are listed at http://americas.creative.com/sound/l...-51/specs.html

Go to PriceGrabber.com and you can search by your zip code to see which store you can buy and ship from cheapest. It looks like Buy.com has it for $169. Use one of the $30 off $150 coupons for it, and the price isn't bad.

I have a SoundBlaster Live in my system and am really pleased with it. The main difference between the various Sound Blaster Lives packages is whether the Live Drive (previously it was a daughter card so you may see this instead) is included. Other than that, the software will differ some but the sound cards are physically the same.

I currently have a sb Live! But I'm tempted to get the new Turtle Beach Santa Cruz or Philips Accoustic Edge. Those are supposedly a smidgen nicer than the live now. Especially for gaming on the santa cruz card.
