I cannot get my TNT2 M64 to do AGP 4x.
Even though it is capable. I have a KT7-RAID board and I enable AGP , nothing. I have also edit the regestry and I download WCPUID to check the AGP, I get nothing.... not even a AGP 2x. Is there a manual setting in the BIOS that I need to configure manually? Other spec. Aperature setting is set at 128MB but I have 256MB RAM. Since the videocard is AGP4x compliant we can eliminate it as the source of the problem.
In Bios under Advanced Chipset Features did you enable AGP4X? Where did you edit the registry? GeForce drivers come with AGP4X disabled. When installing VIA's 4-in-1 drivers choosing normal AGP driver instead of the Turbo version forces mobo to run at AGP 1X setting. Turbo allows videocard to use its default AGP setting. http://www.tweaktown.com/articles/via_agp4x/ http://www.viahardware.com/agp4xfix.shtm http://go.to/kt7faq [Edited by sbp on 12-28-2000 at 01:54 PM] |

THANKS SBP.
All the link you sent me. I have been there. You are my last resort. I download a Registry file from one of the link you post. I did enable my AGP but my card is not running AGP. So I am stuck with a card that does AGP 4x but the setting that I get when I run WCPUID. Does not display anything at all. Yes AGP is ENABLE. I was wondering if it has to do with the HEX setting? Thanks, nhbilly |

Well thanks all who read this post.
I guess there isn't an answer. Only one i can think of is to buy a new card and make sure it is not Nvidia. Not bashing just sux not to get what u paid for. take it easy all and happy new! Nhbilly |

I had this exact same problem with my KT7 RAID. There is actually a simple fix...go to http://www.viahardware.com/ and get VIA's latest 4 in 1 drivers. When installing the drivers, be sure to select AGP TURBO (You will have 3 options). Now, granted you have selected 4X in the bios, you will actually see 1x, 2x, and 4x with 4x selected in WCPUID. I will say this though, I have a CL GF2 Ultra and it is very unstable at 4x. Sure your 3D Mark scores will drop 50 marks, but 2x is the answer for me. There really isn't a difference...yet. (AGP technology just isn't there as of yet).

A lot of via chipset motherboards are unstable with AGP4X enabled. Thats why GeForce drivers come with AGP4X diabled.

i had a prob with agp 4x. i had a radeon all in wonder on an acorp mobo and no matter what i did i could not get past 2x agp. yesterday i bought an asus p3v4x and i get 4x agp all the time now. i didnt even have to lift a finger to do it. im guessing it was the mobo or the mobo vidcard combo that prevented 4x agp.
