Well... I guess it depends on what games these folks are playing.
If they are trying to play the latest/greatest games (Crysis, UT3, Bioshock, etc...) then those older AGP systems might be hurtin' in trying to keep up. Most of the hardcore gamers have already moved on... however those older AGP systems are perfectly fine for playing older games that were out over a year or 2 ago. I can see why Nvidia has stopped their AGP production... They'd rather sell $400 cards to people with PCI express whereas the likelihood that someone with a 2+ year old AGP based machine probably won't spend more than $150 or so for an updated video card at this point. Yeah, the jump from AGP to PCI Express hurts quite a bit... especially considering that you have to buy a new mobo, CPU, and ram to go along with your new video card. ![]()
