Do you burn data to CDs/DVDs anymore?

With the plummeting prices of flash drives, other than music and movies, do you waste time burning to this media?

I still make backups (mainly my 16GB flash drive) to DVD in case I lose the drive itself. I also burn a fair number of .iso files - linux builds and bootable computer diagnostic CDs.

i still burn cd/dvd back ups i have had a fair no.of thumb drives bite the dust or they have got lost. i personal can say i have had to rma 3 thumb drives in as many years. and if it's really important files i burn more then one copy for safe keeping .as cd and dvd's do have a shelf life to .its way more then old vhs tapes but they will loose data in time.

i don't. My picture library just hit 80gigs and i've just started backing up to another drive. i have one external and i really should get another.

When i set my system on fire plugging the wrong power connectors into the mobo i thought i burned the drive too b/c i saw it flash and smoke... evidently it's still working but man what a scare... only about 1/4 of my pics were backed up.

Depends on the purpose....

For "givaways"... (like pictures and files under 4 GBs that I need to share with others) I'll burn them to a CD or DVD.

For general backup and storage... I usually just use extra hard drives.
