Hi DARTH & LPM
How is the 2D Image Quality of the Prophet GeForce2 Pro OEM, that you guys just reviewed. I read that you where satisfied with the Ultra version, but how about the Pro OEM ?? I'm searching for a new card but i want it to be good in 2D enviroment as well. Spend more time there than gaming. I have the Matrox G400 Max Dualhead and it's great i 2D but sucks i gaming. Please advise...... |

The Pro is fine...nobody has bad 2d image quality...as it should say under 2D Image quality in the review, I think.

Yes it is a great card however, it does not work with the new Abit KT7a-raid board. You have to send your card back to the manufacturer and get a new so-called compatible card.. Sent mine today...

Hercules PRO
Is the Hercules PRO just the 64mb version of the geforce2 gts? And i do believe that it works on the KT7-Raid. When this card first came out, i got it for a friend and about 2 months ago i traded my voodoo5 for it. And its working great. No problems yet.. except i might soon need a new power supply.
Actually LP, if u want benchmarks with this card on a different system, i could help u out there, if u told me what program u use and settings.. my setup as is right now is t-bird 1.1 ghz retail. abit kt7 raid retail 256mb pc133 cas2 ram from i forget where.. i'll hafta check 2 x 40.0gb western digital uata 100 7200 rpm in raid 0 mode Hercules geforce2 gts 64mb. sound blaster live platinum 5.1 acer 10x4x32x cd-rw 48x max liteon 6x panasonic dvd btw.. i have a 300 watt power supply.. do u think i should get a bigger one? cus.. i have alot of fans and stuff. one intake in the front i have customized the fans on my processor to give it 4 fans.. two pci card coolers one next to vid and another sound for out takes i have 6 outtake in top back of case.. 2 holes.. but 3 mounted to each other so its like 3 in a row i have 2 open bays in the front its a full tower, but i took those hard drive coolers and reversed the fans so i have 6 fans in the front fo rout take. along with that i have one more out take in the case right above the proc and two fans on the hard drives.. on top of em. sometimes.. i dunno i worry.. i mgiht need more power.. because im thinking of adding 2 more hard drives and a internal zip drive and modding the side panels to add more fans.. yeah yeah.. my case is really really loud.. but my case is behind my desk n stuff.. so i don't really hear it, but i did make sure that putting it there did not restrict air flow. Its got plenty of room.. just not enough to annoy me. |

jeepers, are you trying to make a hover PC?
Actually, both the Ultra and Pro are based on the GTS2 core, but are a much better yield. Pro's are just Ultra's that weren't stable at the higher core rate, which was the sole reason for the Pro's existance. There was a big tramua with some company making Pro's, but they were in reality straight GTS2 cards, so they pulled 'em. Thanks for the offer, but since the article is done, I don't really need it...cool idea though...where the heck were you a couple of weeks ago? |

oh, forgot: Well, as long as you aren't having random reboot problems or instability, you are fine, though I'd think with that many fans, you'll seriously shorten the life of the PS...might not hurt to get an Antech or Enermax and keep the old one as a backup.
