Wow... THis means CDr companies are basically underrating drives... I read the article at CDrinfo... I was shocked... I have an HP9110i suposedly it could go to 12x8x? that would be great! The 9600 offers software to even add a form on burnproof, if anyone knows or has experience let me know.

I attempted on my 9110+

Unsuccesful... THe flash went fine, but when I burn at any speed under 9300 firmware it says fixation error

this only works for certain hp burners...specifically the ones that windows recognizes as "HP8200+" or something. if windows recognizes it as a "IDE-CDR/RW" or something, then you have a rebadged phillips version..which can't be hacked to burn faster. To help you identify it as a phillips rebadge, the of the cd-rw should flip out, right before the tray slides out.
