I just bought a Sony 12X/8X/32X CD-RW. Just wondering what kind of luck you all have had with this drive. Also, I paid $139 ($0 shipping)for the OEM version...is there any place I could have gotten it cheaper??

Haven't played around with that specific drive, but I have toyed around with the older drives. They are very decent. I'd say at least up par with hp drives. Do a search at pricewatch for cheaper prices.

sonys should be up to par with hp, because a lot of hp drives are rebadged sonys'. i havent used that drive, but i have used many 8x sony drive. all my experiences with sonys have been good.
