what's the differnce... and why can't i run counter-strike in opengl? i have a 32mb geforce 2 mx video card from creative labs... i think it's called 3d blasteer annihilator 2mx.... anyways... i thought i could run openGL with it... but apparently not... any suggestions on why or how? and yes i did download the new driver.... os being ME

ok the saga continues... whenever i open a window... and minimize it... it never reopens to the full screen... the window opens to the full screen... but all i can see is a smaller window that looks like it would be full screen if i viewed it in 800*640 (i think) anyways... any help would be greatly appreciated...

OpenGl and Direct3d are different graphical API's. The half life engine can run in either API. What detonator driver are you using?

well i got the newest drivers from both creative labs and ndivia but still same problems... no opengl in halflife and also whenever i wanna find a new server... i it shows only part of the screen... the other part being the previous screen....

I've got a similar problem. And if I use D3D I get a completely black screen when I press escape. That's life.

Thanks for the heads up, I tried installing the drivers from Ctrl-Alt-Delete, but had even more problems. I spent a few hours trying to find a driver that didn't mess with my system and ended up at square one with Detonator 6.31.
Oh well, such is life. At least everything is working like it used to. |

i have had endless problems with any drivers except the det3 6.49 for win2k
every person i have ever seen using a geforce2 card on win2k running d3d has the problem of hitting escape and getting a blank screen... you just get used to it after a while... are you guys running your cards at 4x or 2x???? my card doesn't seem to want to budge past 2x no matter what drivers i use. vid card = asus v7700 any ideas?
