I rarely see Benchmarks for 10K Hard Drives. PC magazine compared a few computers with just about everything equivalent except for a RAID drive and the results were slightly better with the RAID drive.Anybody know if it
s worth it to go with the higher speed SCSI drives? |

Tom's Hardware Guide did a good review on the 10,000 RPM hard drive. You should check that out if you haven't already.
SCSI drives are nice but a little out of my price range. I'd rather spend the money elsewhere. |

I too have been thinking of adding a scsi hard drive as my boot drive. I have a scsi card, however it maxes at 40mb/s. Most drives can run at either 80 or 160 mb/s. Looking around I have seen 18gb drives at 10krpm between 165 and 190. Egghead has a western digital for 165 and buy.com has a seagate for 190 (deal of the day). Use a coupon for 15 off and get free shipping. It comes to be the same price as the wd drive. The seagate is rated at 160mb/s!
