here's the story.. i had a cannon n650u usb scanner..
i installed it, it worked for a while.. then just stopped working.. it was in the device manager, but when i clicked on "scanners and printers" in the control panel, it was there too, but when i clicked on properties, it said "scanner not available" so i thought the scanner was broken, so i had the extended service plan.. i took it back and got an HP 2200c usb.. the same thing is going on.. it installs.. then i hook in the scanncer and it detects it.. its in the device manager but when i go to open the scanners software, it says scanner cant be initialized or not found.. any ideas??????????ANYONE?? im lost.. i called HP, they said to call cannon.. i deleted all the cannon stuff, out of my computer including the registry.. still no dice..? im at a loss.. why would something detected, and software installed and it shows up in the device manager, and in "cameras and scanners".........but.. NOT WORK or cant be initialized? i used a tweaking website.. do any of the 2k services have anything to do with twain scanners? |

Are any of those units getting power from the usb ports? The power requirements might be too much or your computer might not be quick enough...

I know this isn't the same model that you have but it is the same thing that happened to me and this worked for me. Good luck. |
