here's the story.. i had a cannon n650u usb scanner..
i installed it, it worked for a while.. then just stopped working..
it was in the device manager, but when i clicked on "scanners and printers" in the control panel, it was there too, but when i clicked on properties, it said "scanner not available" so i thought the scanner was broken, so i had the extended service plan.. i took it back and got an HP 2200c usb..
the same thing is going on.. it installs.. then i hook in the scanncer and it detects it.. its in the device manager but when i go to open the scanners software, it says scanner cant be initialized or not found.. any ideas??????????ANYONE??
im lost.. i called HP, they said to call cannon.. i deleted all the cannon stuff, out of my computer including the registry.. still no dice..?
im at a loss..
why would something detected, and software installed and it shows up in the device manager, and in "cameras and scanners".........but.. NOT WORK or cant be initialized?


i used a tweaking website.. do any of the 2k services have anything to do with twain scanners?

Are any of those units getting power from the usb ports? The power requirements might be too much or your computer might not be quick enough...

I know this isn't the same model that you have but it is the same thing that happened to me and this worked for me.
