Anyone know where to get one for the least amount of money? The ColdForge (faraday) and the W8500 (Addtronics) are too rich for my blood.
Thanks! |

There's an example of a WTX case. Basically, WTX has the mobo flipped upside down, with the processor on the bottom. ftp://download.intel.com/support/pro...3xp733fly1.pdf There's the reason Intel suggests WTX as the replacement for ATX. Basically, the cooling is much better in WTX cases. Also, as video cards get hotter and hotter (ie. GF3), it's better not to have them stewing right below the CPU. Also, with the AGP and PCI cards right side up now, the heat will rise properly. Think about it, the video chip's heatsink is now on the top, and heat rises, so heat will rise into the heatsink instead of the other direction towards the PCB. This is the reason I'm looking for a case like this. I've actually found an ATX case that seems like it'll fit my needs. It's very inexpensive, is reasonably sized (midtower, smaller then most of the cases I've used in the past), and has a 12cm intake fan, and a 12cm exhaust fan right behind the CPU. This is great because it'll allow me to put 12cm Panaflo fans there. Panaflo's quiet 12cm fan flows 68.9cfm at only 30db. We're talking each 12cm fan has more than twice the flow of a typical 80mm fan, yet is about 1/2 as load. 138cfm through the case, not including the PS, at only 33db. Not bad at all. That reminds me, anyone know where the cheapest place to get tailed Panaflo 12cm L1A (the quiet ones) fans are? http://www.caseetc.com/cgi-bin/casee...ory/ml=8.html? That's $15.99, the cheapest I've found so far. |

Thanks. Heh, the one Addtronics one I mentioned is $309. That second one you mentioned got me all excited, but unfortunately, it's still ATX.
The search continues I guess. I just bought a case and was going to return it if I found a cheap WTX. |
