Wondering if someone could help me out here. I have a USB DSL modem and two computers. I want to get a DSL/Cable router so I can share my internet connection w/ the two computers. Does anybody out there know if there's some sort of USB converter so I could plug it into the router? Thanks.

That's what I was hoping for, a usb to ethernet converter. But I haven't been able to find one anywhere. I was hoping someone here would know where I could get one.

yeah, I got one of those from PacBell DSL, and I couldn't figure any way around it. I think you might have to get a different DSL modem

you can swap it
my friend recently got pacbell dsl, he got the ****ty usb dsl modem....anyway, I told him to call pacbell and say that he didn't have any pci ports(a lie to avoid getting an internal modem) or usb ports( to avoid getting a usb modem) and that all he had was a ethernet card that had to stay in his computer...I told him to ask for a ethernet Wan modem like the Alcatel 1000 and they swapped him the usb modem for a ethernet DSL one...it works fine with his linksys router.

You could probably set up a 'puter as your firewall with the modem hooked into it and then hook that 'puter up to your router. I don't know if you have any spare computers laying around, though. Just a thought.
