i just got my geforce 2mx
and my scores are sadly so.. for cs its only 15 .......WTF so low for UT its 30 .......SlOOOOWww the graphics are good but why are my scores lower than my marks |

Is fsaa turned off? What resolution and color depth are you using in those respective games? For UT don't use detailed textures and characters.

NO i think its on auto.. if not how do i check i uninstalled UT so if u could gimme tips for CS it would be appreciated
i am using 1024X728 win me, p3 667, 384mb ram, geforce 2mx msi cheap mobo THNKS |

yah check all ur settings there, if fsaa is on auto its prolly being enabled, with a geforce 2 mx in cs with 1024*768, im surprised it runs

well the geforce 2 mx doesnt have the best bandwidth in the world, maybe your getting a little trigger happy and maxing out settings on your new card, set em all to low and see what happenes

arsenips: ya might want to settle down and refrain from calling members names. We are here to help.
The simple reason that a GeForce2MX would have lousy performance with FSAA on is FSAA is a very GPU intensive process and the GeForce2MX can't handle it very well.

Aliasing
The TNT2 by default would alias different things in the game. Your GeForce2MX is often seen by the software as a GeForce2.
So, the software sees the drivers that are activated and sets up defaults based on the chipset it thinks are there. Play with some of your driver settings and turn some things off/down. |

dude, how old are you because right now ur not acting anything over 10,but thats not the point here, the point is the geforce 2 mx wasnt meant to be a speed demon, if ur settings are high, i.e.; detailed textures in unreal and such, u might be taxing ur bandwitdth too much, u dont have a slow system, u dont have a fast one either and i dont know how well a geforce 2 mx scales with processor speed, so im not in the position to say "this is the reason its slow" but im just giving some suggestions here, try calling up the manufacturer of ur card, download powerstrip and tell us what clock speed ur card is it, it might be underclocked...who knows, quality control has gotton worse these days, just look at abit...i digress. bottom line is u cant have everything, all the eye candy and the speed, if there are preset settings in the game put em all to minimal and or low, how are ur scores in other games????? 3dmark 2000/2001???

oced..to that question ijust overclocked my cpu to 700 from 667 everytime i go higher. it keeps on saying that myregistry has problems .blahblah
after 10x my madonion 3dmark2001 is.............1864 is that good |

Hm.
Your 3dmark score is higher than mine, but I am destroying you in games...I run counterstrike at 1280 (max res) at 85FPS constant, yet my 3dmark score is like 1400pts.
HEHEHEHEHHEHE. The MX is hard pressed to play above 800X600, friend. My friend has a Tbird 1.4gz and she put a geforce2mx in..I said what the, well ok whatever. Hopefully she upgrades that sometime. |

But for some odd reason NOW when i try to benchmark i only get 1000
i dont knwo what drivers i used to even get that high... but i saw it go that high b4 DMAN IT is GEFoRCE 2 Pro ALOT better than just Geforce 2 |

well ya didn't say that, and considering you have mx one would thikn you're saying that.
Otherwise no the PRO is not vastly different than the GTS, for your reference: MX < GTS < PRO < ULTRA < GEFORCE3 (in some cases) cl_showfps is the command in counterstrike. |
