I am looking into buying a new CDR drive and I have come to a decision. The Yamaha or Plextor drive? I have read reviews, but I do now know who to believe. I usually just use the drive to back up data and make audio CD's. Any suggestions? Thanks!

If money is not a factor, then get a Plextor.

It matters which model you're talking about. The new 20x Yamaha is better than the 16x plextor. However, 16x to 16x, the Plextor is better.

Both drives are solid performers and hard to make much differences in performances. But plextor imho has just a leetle nibblin' of better performance.
