Ok, I'd like to know if any of you would venture to get one of these (Que! 24x CD-RW) drives instead of a PlexWriter 16x10x32 for nearly the same price?
It's $80 less than the TDK 24x10x40x drive. Is it the same drive? Dave. |

I believe clutchy was refering to the 16x media. I'm not sure they make blank cd's that burn at 24x either. AT least i haven't seen them around.

That's a good point. I do use THEE cheapest of the cheap CD-R's in my PlexWriter 12x and burn at 12x all day long without making coasters.
I wonder if the 16x (at least) will afford me the same luxury? Dave. [Edited by Dave_7 on 08-19-2001 at 10:25 PM] |

i was reading somewhere that the 24x burners take like 4 minutes as opposed 5+ for the 12x'ers. i really see no point in upgrading just yet, that 12 is a beast. I'd upgrade when dvd-r's go down in price or wait till cd-rw get into the 50+ burning speeds...
1. you're going to pay more for a new burner. 2. you're going to pay a premium for the new coasters that would make your purchase worthwhile. my money would be spent elsewhere. |
