Dangit! Seems just like yesterday when I got my SB Live. Now they have to come out with a card that has FOUR TIMES the processing power of the old EMU chip. *sigh*
Here are some specs: - multi-channel audio through 24-bit, 96kHz digital-to-analog converters - 100dB signal-to-noise ratio - support for true discrete multi-channel playback, which enables Dolby Digital 5.1 music - 32-bit multi-effects engine, providing users four simultaneous audio environments in real time - natural audio transition from one environment to another with real-time morphing of each environment's audio characteristics - 3D spatialization and localization of an upcoming or distant environment - sound bouncing off surfaces and returning to the gamer in full 3D - Dynamic Repositioning of Enhanced Audio and Music technology, which allows them to reposition different bands of music in a surround 5.1 environment I'm not sure when games will actually support all this sound power, but it sounds (no pun intended) great! The SoundBlaster website was offline, so I ganked the info off of Avault. http://www.avault.com/news/displayne...y=8202001-9542 |

But you will not be able to rip some music with it.... there goes the value of the card out the window for me.

to be honest i dont think that the difference would even be noticable. I have a SBLive and i dont think i've used the EAX even once, except for maybe a game or two. The only reason why i like this card is that the quality is really good. Although i must say i was very pissed when the SBLive 5.1's came out 2 months after i bought mine.

The inputs and outputs on this card look like they are going to kick arse.
