I'm trying to get this pink thermal pad offa my heatsink with rubbing alcohol. It ain't working. I don't have any acetone here, either. Any ideas?

Arctic Silver guys veto it...
On their website, they veto WD-40 due to performance decreasement.

WD-40 leaves residue. You'd probably be better off leaving the thermal pad fragments on.
It's not all just gonna fall off. You're gonna need to scrape. Just be careful not to really scrath up the surface of the heatsink. That will hurt the performance. I guess I'll let someone else chime in with a better solvent. Mezpin |

Clean up the WD-40 residue with isopropyl alcohol and you'll be fine.
