Has anyone here tried it, I downloaded the BIOS rev guide from Nvidia and im a quite a few revions back.... is there any advantage of upgrading? Just for reference I have a 3D Prophet MX Duel-Display. Theres some BIOS roms at The CAD but i dunno if i should try.

I usualy do a search to find out why a new bios was released. Usualy I can find a forum or three discussing it. Unless there are som good reasons not to, I will flash the BIOS.

I'd try going to the manufacturers webasite to find out what is fixed with the latest release. If the fix does not fit your situation and you have no problems with your vid card, don't bother.

I usually stick to the "If it ain't broke, don't fix it" phillosophy when it comes to BIOS flashes.

that's true. if you flash it and it screws up during the update process. you might have to send the card back to manufacturer to fix.

Agreed. If I am not having problems, I generally do not flash my BIOS. Why risk leaving your card useless when it was already working flawlessly?

i do the same, don't do it

i flashed my mb bios once, cause i thought it would be nice to have updated bios'es...but then, i started having problems with pci cards and what not...so i reverted it back to the original bios, and it all worked fine again (it was a really cool bios too, gui).

i dunno about vid cards, but since then, I've just left all my bios's alone

if your extremely unlucky with bios updates then don't, but I have a Hercules Prophet 2 GTS and I updated the BIOS and got quite a performance boost from it, upped my 3dmark2k score by 200 and took my fps in Q3 from 45 to 72!! So it just depends on how confident you are in your PC technician skills
