Check this out, this came from over at Extreme Tech.

damnit i can't get the link to work, but it's http://www.extremetech.com it's the article that says something about AMD's 9 cents.

Quote:
AMD sent us the A7VL-VM because they are obviously trying to position their new Morgan version of the Duron as a lower cost CPU to go head-to-head against the Celeron. Make no mistake: this sub-$100 CPU is, in most cases, a Coppermine Pentium III killer.

Amazing is all i have to say. AMD's new "value processor" is, well doing nasty things to the p3 1GHz.

Oh my god!!!!

You mean something that came out this week is faster than something that has beeen around for a year?????????

Seriously dude... that was kinda lame.

Try comparing a 1.13ghz Tualatin to a 1ghz Duron. I highly doubt you'll come up the same and anyways P3 is being killed off by Intel soon. If you could show me a Duron beating a P4 then that would be something interesting.

BTW- Here's the link Extreme Tech

$91... just checked pricewatch.

but the same still stands, no matter what you can't compare a computer part that is 1 year old to a computer part that is 1 week old. Wanna race my 24x CD Burner against a 8x?

Don't think so... 1 year is a long time.

first of all, shut the hell up... i was just saying that a value processor is beating a top of the line processor, and to call the p3 1ghz dated is well "lame". Also i was trying to compare the same GHz processors not an intel processor that needs to be prorated like the p4.

2nd i don't want you replying to my posts anymore you have this serious complex about trying to correct me or taking the opposite stance on something. I appreciate constructive criticism, but i know you're just doing it to piss me off so stop.

I wasn't posting for your benefit either, i was doing it for those that might be looking into purchasing a new system and needed some baseline benchmarks.

and uh those burners aren't exactly the same speed, but good try though.

clutchy, andy, if you have a problem with me be a man and bring it to me personally. you have my ICQ Number, my AIM sn, and you even know where i live.

My point is very specific... the technology behind a P3 1ghz and Duron 1ghz is not comparable because one is a whole year older than the other. Think about it...

1 year = a awfully long time in the computer world

1. more ppl have p3s then p4s and durons.
2. Durons are VALUE processors.
3. The original post was not intended for the ununderstanding eyes of wizard.
4. 1 year is not a long time to the average consumer.
5.1ghz is 1ghz and it doesnt matter how old it is.
6.smack down iz rite.

might be comming.....did you not see those reviews where they said that Intel might just axe the P3 and make them into celys? Again....Intel screws you over.

"Tualatins (New P3´s) are comming!!" And Tualatins are scheduled for extinction already since Intel is now pushing P4 into the different markets. The celeron will bring up the low end market and the various P4's will fill the higher markets.

A 64bit processor can be clocked lower, archieving almost the same at half the speed.... VERYYYY simple!

As I have been writing a lot of times before in various forums, and as working computer supporter, INTELs are the most stable systems - BASTA!!!!

Talking 1.4Ghz Athlon $130

According to http://news.excite.com/news/zd/01082...cat-price-cuts, "AMD, for example, cut the list price of its 1.4GHz Athlon from $253 to $130, a 49 percent drop." Gotta love it!

BS.

Quoting yourself as a refference? How arrogant. I'll admit that the low end athlon motherboards aren't as good as the higher end intel motherboards, but that's about it.
The only stability problems Athlon/Durron processors have is that cheap morons don't want to buy a decient MB to run them on.

Evil - Thank you for reiterating to Clauzii what I have been saying to him ALL this time. Get cheap parts...you get flaky performance.

Like I said before....you get a cheap no name mobo for intel....it'll do the same thing....be horrible.

HOLY S H I T Clauzii
Don't you get it... AMD is super stable if you have it set up right. Anandtech has 17 servers for their site, 15 of which are AMD based!!!!! Trust me they wouldn't use AMD if it wasn't stable... read the article!!! http://www.anandtech.com/IT/showdoc.html?i=1456&p=1

Clauzii don't talk trash about AMD and others don't talk trash about Intel. Both companies are necessary to keep performance and competition up... if either company disappeared it would be terrible for all computer users!!

Ok, Ok - maybe I exagerate a little, but it is like this My Dad Is Stronger Than Your Dad talking... Childish!
And yes - We get carried away sometimes...
If it works, ENJOY! (No matter what computer we use).
(I actually still also use my TOTALLY modified C64 for a lot of things in my Studio!)

And no, I am not sorry for having an INTEL!

I must also say that Anandtech is not the fastest page on the net..!

Like some people feel led down by INTEL, I feel led down by AMD. I know that if you get brand parts, AMD may be stable too , but then an AMD computer is NOT that cheap, as some might make us believe!!
