My brother sent home his old monitor from college for me to hook up on my parents' computer, and I can't get the computer to work with it. The computer is a P133, 80MB piece of crap. The monitor is a PS/1 piece of crap. When I plugged it in and turned everything on the computer booted up, but after the Win98 screen all i got was this jumbled mess whizzing around the screen from right to left or vice versa (it's going too fast to tell). Then I got a blue screen windows error that read:
Terminating thread due to a stack overflow problem. A VxD, possibly recently install, has consumed too much stack space. Increase the settings of the 'MinSPs' in system.ini or remove recently installed VxD's. There are currently 5 SPs allocated. That's pretty much greek to me. Can someone tell me what to do? Thanks! |

plug the old monitor back in a set the refresh rate to 75 hertz and to 800X600.......
then plug the new old one u got from ur bro in then try to reset the refresh rate and the or if I am mistaken: plug in a good monitor...and set the refresh rate and everything to bare minimal.....then plug in the ps/1 crap ; ) |

Ah that did it. I probably should have thought of that. I guess I was in denial over the fact that this monitor doesn't do past 800x600 res. That was the problem with the other monitor, and I thought the one my brother sent was better than that.
