Laptop Processor Upgradeable?
I seriously know nothing about laptops. I was wondering if it is not a hassle to switch up a processor on a laptop, specifically the Dell Inspiron 8100 with the Pentium 3 Mobile 866. It is quite cheap to get the 866 and I can always later on add a more powerful chip.

The cpu will pop right out.
Check Dell's support pages for complete how to. They don't really say that its upgradeable but it is replaceable. And the do offer it with a 1.2GHZ Dont know if its worth the money for the speed gain. Might see more from a memory upgrade depending on what you currently have. |

All the laptops i've had open have been attached directly to the board without a ziff socket. I guess you learn something new every day.
