Question HSF for the non hearing impaired?

I got myself an Athlon XP 1800+ and would like to do my best not to burn the thing out. I don't plan on doing any overclocking, but am still somewhat timid about going with the coolermaster paperweight AMD provided with the chip. I like the Taisol CGK760092 as a non-extreme solution, but it looks like it no longer exists. The Vantec CCK6027D also seems a workable solution. Does anyone have one of these and could you compare it to the 7k RPM deltas in terms of noise? I plan on putting four fans in my case (low dB, low CFM), so whatever HSF I go with should at least have an ambient-like environment to deal with.

Anyone using this chip in a non-overclocked fashion? What HSF are you using?

Thanks

Lemistral, I have the Vantec CCK6027D and I love it! It has a 6000rpm low speed Delta fan which I was a bit concerned about as I did have the FOP-38 and I just couldn't take the loud high-pitched noise, but this one is quiet and works great! It lowered my temps while playing Unreal Tourny by about 10 C. Good luck with your selection!

Thanks

Thanks for the confirmation. Did you have any problem installing it, I have heard the clips are a little tight (probably better for the slightly shorter XP core anyway)? Are you using the mobo fan header or a 3 to 4 pin converter?

Thanks again.

I'm using the fan header on the Mobo as I heard that the ABIT KT7's can handle it fine. The fan itself isn't as highly powered as the black labeled Delta so I don't think you'll have any problems. As for putting it on, (I have a T-Bird) there wasn't really any problems, although it was a bit more difficult to put on than my FOP-38. FYI, they have them for $23 at PCNut.com and they ship fast...at least for me. They also have excellent user ratings from reselleratings.com. Best of luck!
