Question

I don't have any experience with any of this so let me apologize if my information is not very informative.

First, you'd probably have to let us know how much money would "leave a hole in your pocket". Also, just by your title, I'm going to assume you want something internal (which is generally cheaper than an external device).

I know that Pinnacle Systems has quite a few cards under their "Video Editing" and "Home Moving Making" categories. If you're transferring from a digital camcorder, you might be happy with just any internal Firewire card (could be wrong here).

Other questions you will have to ask yourself are, "am I interested in":

- TV tuner capability so I can watch TV on my PC's monitor

- built-in video/audio compression on the card so that I won't need so much storage space to work with and perhaps save some time on top of that

- replacing my current video card altogether and getting an ATI All-In-Wonder Radeon for my gaming needs and my video editing needs

Obviously, quite a few more considerations are needed before you can find the right solution. Good luck.

Pinacle is a nice card.....
I need something that is compatible with Adobe Premiere.

Matrox rt2500 is way to much $900 is way to much something in the middle would be nice say 300-400. Pinacle is up in the stratosphere with Matrox too.

I don't really care for the other feature. I just need video cature and editing

Do you need firewire too? If so get the DV500 if all you need is analog, get the DC30 pro. Don't get the DV200 'cause you can't do real time editing with it like with the DV500.

Since Adobe Premiere is its own software, shouldn't it be compatable with most video cards?

Heh, you would think that. . . but premiere is a nightmare with a lot of cards especially any version prior to 6.0. Oh lordie the pains. . .

but I'd be wrong.

And I thought Adobe made universally compatable programs.
