CMOS issues
so i just put together a new pc...Abit KG7 motherboard and 1.4 GHZ Athlon processor in case its relevant...and the problem im having is that if i ever edit the bios, or if i go to reboot my system, instead of rebooting properly the computer shuts down but the power stays on and the monitor light goes into suspend mode....i then have to shut off the power and turn it back on and everythings fine....anyone know what this is??

Some ideas just off the top of my head here so forgive me if this completely wrong.
Is it possible that you might have incorrectly connected the reset switch to the wrong connector? Also, I think I might've had a problem similar to this with an older Abit motherboard. It had something to do with one of the fan headers. Whenever I connected anything to it, it would be a toss-up whether I could get into the BIOS. I just ended up connecting the fan to the power supply (using a 3-4pin converter) instead. Good luck. ![]() |
