Monitor Blew?

My 1.7 year-old 19 inch monitor blinked off and won't come back on. Is there anything I can do about this, or is it basically a goner? Funny, I had just finishing playing Siege of Avalon, and then it died. Maybe Mithras is getting revenge...

Yep, sounds like your tube busted. Nothing you can really do except to replace the tube. . . but you might as well get a new monitor.

Hope you had warranty coverage. Remember - if you used your AMEX Blue to buy it, they double the MFRs warranty. I *think* all Amex cards do this, but I know for sure that Blue does.

If its not going on at all no power lights etc. You can check the fuse inside and replace it.

Be careful and unplug the damn thing and don't touch anything except the blown fuse. We don't want to hear stories about how the thing threw you across the room.

If it blows again then it really blows and its time to replace the unit.

Do the above at your own risk. I'm not liable for anything you decide to do on your own. The warning labels are there for a reason.

Exclamation

I highly suggest you do not mess around in the inside of a monitor.

Heh, this was pre-G|A?...Buy $400 worth from Microcenter, open an etrade account, and get $400 deposit into etrade account after 2 months. Had to keep a balance for a year, tho...

Really wasn't THAT good of a deal since the monitor blows after only 1.7 years...
