memory prices :-\

I looked at the memory prices reciently and they're really high. Too bad BestBuy had to sell al their damn PC2100 DDR chips before I got there on sunday! what a bunch of BS. I called 3 stores and none of them had the memory in stock when the add broke on sunday. Plus their online site on monday said 'this product cannot be ordered" hah. Crucial sells the RAM for more than BestBuy had it for even before the rebate.

Anyway...my question is when will the RAm prices drop again?

P.S. I'm sorry if this has been asked before in some form.

I suggest you try Best Buy again today or tomorrow, maybe call them, and see if they have any. I went to the local Best Buy to pick up my online order for a stick of RAM on Wednesday night. Besides my order and whatever others they may have had in the back, there was no DDR RAM on the sales floor. They did say that a new shipment was coming in Thursday night (after the store closes), and I should come back Friday morning if I wanted to get some.

my best buy is full of idiots. he told me a PC133 chip woulsn't run in PC100 mode and tried to get me to buy the more expensive (slower too) memory rated PC100 instead of the crucial PC133 for my other system which is not a DDR.

Be careful, sbp... we wouldn want any of the "Beast" Buy guys dropping any Anthrax in your stalkings for Christmas.
What ever happened with that incident, anyway?

Oh, and DREDD, I think what chosen means is a stick of ram with all the chips on one side.

hmmm

Was that the guy from Detnet that had the death threats from the bestbuy?

Since i got my box built, I've been neglecting much of the hardware realm. I'm assuming single-sided ram is that only one side has chips on it? I think all mine is double.

oh yeah, any prices for 512mb stick ddr?

Some guy took umbrage at something said in a review. http://www.gotapex.com/reviews.php?rev=pal/p3.html first paragraph
The guy sent Darth a threatening email.

http://www.gotapex.com/newspro/archive/arc9-2001.php See October 13.

The police got involved. The guy sent Darth an email apologizing like crazy. Darth said the matter is out of his hands now but he will print out the guys apologetic e-mail to the police. Also Darth told the guy he needs to publicly apologize in the forums. Which the guy did. http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showth...threadid=32148 (What did Darth say??)

Angry

I went to best buy to buy DDR 256 pc2100... They said 'That will be 59.99 +tax.' I said WHAT????? Just 2 days before, it was 29.99. They replied 'RAM is like gasoline, the price fluctuates.' Tiger direct did and told me the same exact thing!!! I was mad to say the least. Best buy topped it off by trying to sell me PC133 ram to put in my DDR system. I told him, SO IF I DRIVE A GAS CAR AND THE PRICE WENT UP ON THE GAS, SHOULD I PUT THE CHEAPER DEISEL IN IT? NO, BECAUSE MY CAR IS GAS!!!

Some have slots for both types of ram, but as for fitting in the same slot, no. One is 168 pin, the other is 184.
