Must show proper appreciation of it's depreciation!

I had the original Tandy 1000 computer!! It had no hard drive, a 5.25" floppy drive, and we UPGRADED it to 640K of RAM!! RGB graphics and sound from the system speaker!

This was back in 1985/1986 I believe.

Don't forget 64 times the number of available colors and more than 64 times the graphics speed. The early VGA cards only had 16 colors at one time available at 640x480, and 256 colors at 320x400.

The ad didn't mention a modem, but I think the fastest modem at that time was a 9600 bps. Although modem speeds haven't increased at the incredible rate everything else has (I think it has to do with what phone lines can handle), we now have cable modems.

Since that computer had IBM Micro Channel Architecture, it severely limited your choice of peripheal cards.

At least is was an 80386 and not an 80386SX.

What's really funny is that my video card has more memory than some of the hard drives of that era! Back then the most common hard drive size was 40MB. This ad didn't even mention any hard drive. Better add $1000 or so to the price if you want one.
