Athlon XP
Is an Athlon XP CPU actually that much better than a Thunderbird? I was looking at the Athlon XP 1800+ and 1900+ and was wondering if a 1.4Ghz Athlon thunderbird owner should make the upgrade or not. What do you think? This is my situation and my feeling is...NO it's not worth it. However a part of me just has to have the latest and greatest ya know? ;-)

By upgrading now, we would not much of an increase in speed compared to the currently owned cpus. Furthermore, by waiting we'll get better value for the money spent. |

Hey sbp, how much do you know about the new "Hammer" (I think that's what it is called) line of AMD chips?
Oh, and I'm with you guys on that. I wouldn't upgrade right now either. If you were going from a much slower system, I'd say yeah, but I'm running my Duron at 840 right now, and it still runs everything I need.
