I noticed that there are 2 versions of the KT266A motherboards...one's with ATA133 and one's without ATA133 (just the standard ATA66 and ATA100). Is there any difference between the one's with ATA133 vs. the one without the ATA133(performance wise) or is it just added features(and added cost
)??

ATA 133 is something that Maxtor is trying to push. IMO, there isn't really a reason to go with the ATA 133 over ATA 100. There will be almost no gain in performance, and what gain there is really isn't worth the extra price.
The real difference in performance would come from RAID, but a RAID card will be faster than onboard RAID.

Yeah I've read in several places that ATA133 isn't worth it because the performance gains are minimal at best plus serialATA is just around the corner. So a regular KT266A board and a KT266A board with ATA133 perform the same if you don't use ATA133 standard????

yes the board is the same the IDE interface is a little stronger in the ATA/133 boards. If you really want speed drop IDE and hook a SCSI RAID card up. For everyone else ATA/100 is fine.

If you're ab overclocker the Abit or Epox are the top. If you're a mild overclocker and want some extra features the Soyo is awesome.
