Help! problem with SB 5.1 Xgamer & ECS K7VTA3

Hi all, I just bought the ECS K7VTA3 virsion 3.1 with the 333 chipset. The board and everything else went pretty easy. But every time I put my drivers in for my Sound Blaster Live 5.1 the computer wont boot. Just before the desk top the screen goes black and says
Windows Protection Error. And then stops right there. As soon as I go into safe mode and remove the drivers the computer boots just fine. So please help me. I emailed ECS but its going to take a few days. Also the VIA hardware monitoring software wont work. It says it cant read the bios. If you have any, know how about fixing this problem, please help.

I don't know if this will help, but I had SBLive problems with an Aopen board I once had and the eventual solution was to move the sound card to the PCI slot furthest away from the AGP slot. Worth a try!

SB Live's were always picky and didn't get along that well with Via chipsets.
