Looking for the finest (read: cheapest) socket 370 board for a frankenstein'd system.

I've looked on Pricewatch... they're about $45 or so... anyone have any experience with the cheaper brands (BioStar, PCchips, etc)? I want to try to find one with an onboard LAN and audio (the parts that I don't have). No need for a modem. But must have an AGP slot.

Doesn't have onboard LAN. It's a Biostar and it's $29

The second one doesn't have an AGP slot

I'd get that biostar...

Cripes! Out of stock!

Good find, though. Thanks.

And what I have is a P3 850. Why do so many of these cheap boards stop supporting 100 MHz P3s at 800? Hmmmm......

take a look at http://www.centrix-intl.com/?source=PW .... [the PW in the link i think is for pricewatch.. it might affect the prices] *shrug*.... they have some really cheap *intel* socket 370s... the micro-atx one seems to be the best deal, it supports every 370 processor out there basically, excecept maybe the 1.2 tulatins ?.. [ even then, the newer ones can take it] ... the other sub 45 dollar motherboard can't handle everything.. but, it's normal atx.. more pci slots ...

Ended up finding an OEM Intel 815 chipset board with audio and video for $42 + tax at the Comp Fair. Got a cheap GFORCE 2 MX, too... so the onboard video was a moot point. But still, satisfied with the deal.

It worked great. Thanks all.
