NIC Issues

Here's my problem -

I've got the setup in this thread:
http://www.gotapex.com/forums/showth...threadid=47413 (Athlon XP AROIA)

I've been able to tweak it to 1807Mhz without any stability issues but when I try any higher, I can't communicate over my older Netgear FA311TX to my server or other workstation. Aside from replacing the NIC, any other suggestions?

If I have to replace the NIC, any suggestions on a good one (been out of the market for those for a while).

3com 3c905 b or c

smc 1275

no d-link or netgear NIC's. Pay a bit more for the better hardware.

I have a friend here at my work who's going to sell me his 3C905C. I was just curious if anybody had any other suggestions.

I had a feeling while putting in the netgear NIC that it was going to be like putting 89 octane gas in a 525i, but I had no other options at the time.

Anybody else have any ideas?

I've been using Netgear NICs for over five years without any problems.

Aside from the problem Kevster mentions, what's the general problem with them?

Thanks for the advice on this one - I installed a new (to me, anyway) 3Com 3C905C-TX-M and now my system is achieving 1860Mhz and is still rock-stable. I'm thinking about inching it up another notch or two just to see how much more squeeze out of it before I have to up the voltage.

I'm currently at 1.775V core and haven't touched anything else.

All I can say is my three netgear NICs are probably going on Ebay after this!
