Has hell frozen over? {Bitboys related}
There are pictures of actual Bitboys silicon floating around:

I think its a chop...
Why? Look at the supposed "heatpad" on it, to towards the BitBoys logo on the top left corner. The logo goes ONTO the heatpad. Who knows though... LK |

Bitboys has been saying its going to release a product for years, its going to be revolutionary and is going to rock the world. However, it has NEVER shown, not even a demo. That they even have a supposed PCB with a supposed chip is earth shattering...

I think it's a chop, just because it's Bitboys.
Bitboys are the only project out there more overdue than DukeNukem Forever. ![]()

Its a bogus pic, trust me.
1. I went into Photoshop and zoomed in, the Symbol is contiguous onto the thermal pad, it is NOT part of anything else. 2. The writing on the thermal pad does not go all of the way to the edge of the top portion of the picture, but does with the bottom (right) portion. 3. There is some "blurring" going on with the picture. Save the picture off of HOCP's site and zoom in, its not as clear as other area's of the picture, especially where the BitBoys name is, there is more writing there but its VERY blurry unlike the rest of it. 4. Also, when looking at the RAM, you can see that somebody blurred it, this is even more obvious because you can see the EXACT places where it stop being blurred., especially on the top right ram chip. 5. I highly doubt they would put a ram/bios socket onto their board like this one has... 6. There is some kind of symbol on the top right of the card, and the name next to it says 3d re... something like that... Could I be wrong? Sure...but the evidence points against that... Upon looking some more at the original pics (lined to Beyond3d thread through Nvnews) you can see that the reason why the logo overruns the white is because the extra white is a reflection. The ram still looks like its blurred though.

Everything looks legit to me. The board looks like a type of prototype card as evidenced by the prototyping area and the words "3D reference" silk-screened onto the board. Reference boards usually have some kind of a high-speed connector (firewire, USB, serial cable) to load various test code.
The only thing that looks suspicious is the logo beneath the heat pad. It's possible that the heat pad material is clear while the top layer is paper or some other opaque material.

BitBoys Hardware!
"BitBoys have finally shown the public an actual piece of hardware! Keeping with tradition though, the card is not slated for volume production due to the cancellation of the embedded DRAM fabrication line by Infineon." http://www.bitboys.fi/products_axegraphicsprocessor.htm |

One final link before this sorry state of affairs disappears:
BitBoys Lay Their Cards on the Table: No Graphics Cards to Appear ---------- Will Bitboys fanboys eat crow? Nah. They have enjoyed sniffing the vapors for too long to do otherwise. Why stop now? No doubt they have a long list of excuses why its not Bitboys fault for coming out with a card. In the long run, whatever the circumstances, it doesn't mean squat cause now everyone knows they won't ever be a Bitboys videocard out.Looks like the deep pocketed investors finally got wise. The dream is dead Bitboys fanboys. Smell the vapour before it dissipates. |
