Problem on Boot: Sloooooow Going

When booting my system seems to hang after recognizing the Primary and Secondary IDA channels. Checking the LEDs MSI provides tells the following tale: "Boot Attempt: This will set low stack and boot via INT 19h." It then takes about five minutes to get the Windows XP splash screen (or even get into the BIOS edit mode). Once I get into Windows, everything seems okay and the system is stable.

Running an MSI KT# Ultra ARU with an Athlon XP 2100+ (no O/C), 1GB Corsair PC2700, Hercules Radeon 8500 64MB, WD 80GB HD, proper cooling, etc. System has been a dream since May when I cobbled it together.

Any thoughts and/or possible solutions?

Thanks.

Eh. . . could be bad power supply? I had a similar problem with an old dell of mine, had too much stuff in it, like 4 hds, 3 optical drives, slots all full etc. It was maxed out and beyond some and it would take a while to boot up but once up it was fine. So could be faulty power supply or even the power itself.

Have you check under Admin Tools in Control Panel in Event Viewer?
Look in Systems folder to see if you have any hardware problem if not then it could be PSU.

luck,

I had this same problem. Try cleaning out all of your cookies and then doing a disk cleanup. This fixed it for me.
