HDTV as monitor?

Hey guys I was at Best Buy the other day and saw a 30" widescreen HDTV for $1000. Here are the specs:
Product Info
Samsung 30" Widescreen DynaFlat HDTV Monitor
Model: TXM-3096WHF

Talk about reality TV! This showpiece brings you startling high-definition images in all their panoramic glory. Pro Chip Plus system upgrades standard TV signals to progressive-scan quality.

PRODUCT FEATURES
Capable of stunning 1080i/480p resolution when connected to a compatible digital TV receiver

Pro Chip Plus natural scan-line doubling system with 3-2 pulldown upconverts standard 480i TV signals to seamless 480p output

16:9 widescreen DynaFlat HDTV picture tube for minimal picture distortion and reduced ambient glare

3-line digital comb filter minimizes dot crawl and moiré

Invar shadow mask for high brightness, sharp focus and color purity

Velocity scan modulation for outstanding edge definition

20-watt MTS/SAP stereo audio system with 2-way speakers, dbx noise reduction and BBE enhancement

Auto volume leveler minimizes changes in volume during commercials, or while changing channels

2 rear HD component video inputs with automatic sensing of analog and digital signals

1 side S-video input, 4 A/V inputs (1 side, 3 rear) and 1 RF input, plus 1 A/V output

Includes universal remote

Standard-definition, enhanced-definition and high-definition digital television monitors require an optional set-top box to decode over-the-air digital TV broadcasts

How do you think it would do as a monitor??

thanks

It's too low res for intensive use. You'll be able to resolve about 1024x768 at most. Even 1152x864 will be a bit fuzzy, too fuzzy for text at least. Also, there's the worry about burn in.
