Logitech Z560 Help

Ok...I'm bloody mad...

I think my Z560s blew...again. It can still play sound, but there's a huge humming noise. This happened right after I heard a pop. I moved the speakers to a corner and plugged it in and still there's that hum, so that negates any possibility of electrical interference.

This is the second time these things have popped. Does anyone know how to replace the fuse <cough> LP?

grrr...I wasn't even doing anything big with them.

I pray yours never does. Those things sound great. But come on...

I just read on neoseeker that someone did manage to open the speakers, and the bloody fuse is in the middle of the sub. What a joke.

Red face great speakers but...

...these speakers do like to blow. Seen a lot of threads on various forums with people on their second or third set of Z560 speakers.

While this won't necessarily help you specifically, Logitech has acknowledged this problem with the z-560's, so they put the fuse on the outside of their newer Z-680's.

As with a few people here, I haven't had a problem with mine.

The reason why I am hesitant to fully acknowledge logitechs as "GREAT" speakers. The quality control seems to be on par with the other low level media speakers like altec and such. Klipsch is just a lil' higher above and why they cost more.

So I went to compusa to get new speakers since I didn't want to deal with Logitech. I'm not paying $50 to get these POS shipped to them since they weigh 50 pounds.

So guess what I come back with. Logitech Z640s. Oy. I don't learn my lesson.

The worst part is that I did the unthinkable and bought a 2 year replacement plan. $15 extra, but I figure I don't want to deal with this mess...

This was a really bad day...

You wouldn't have to do that....don't mention the fuse at all, just the hum. They'll just ask for the control box and the power cord to the sub.

<sigh> Yeah I know. I did that the first time. I just don't feel like going through that crapo. But then again, it is $150 worth.

I guess I should call them tomorrow. Anyone want to buy them from me if I get a new pair?
