Got iPod UI rip-off? hehehe.

Its one obvious thing when a company tries to copy the look of the ipod but this company has taken it a step further, check out the demo, the way the whole system works. . . looks just vaguely familiar . . . heheh. Would be a tempting player if it had more than just usb 1.1. The opensource idea is great imo. http://www.neurosaudio.com/

i still prefer my iPod

I dont like the looks of that orange screen. I liek the way my ipod glows white in the dark, or inverse in the daytime. Orange is just looks old fashioned or something

USB for 20GB would be a drag. Gotta go firewire or 2.0.

Ever think it might be because they use the same OS made by Pixo Inc.

it's actually a very tempting unit, expect for that 1.1 limitation.

I was seriously considering this unit until I saw the USB 1.1 only. No firewire or USB 2.0? No way.

Yup, I personally love the orange color, wouldn't say its old fashion, come on ribitch don't try to make up defenses now. . . There are modern successful companies around here with orange schemes like cingular (although I despise them) and got|orange? Only one of the largest communications companies in the world probably, just not present in the us market, but hey they even got an F1 team . The radio thing also is great, tuner plus ability to broadcast out to a radio. VERY nice touch imo. Also ability to record with the mic or an external source VERY nice, one reason I have yet to buy an ipod. But all of this greatness and what do they shove to us? 1.1. . . oy vey a swing and a miss, or maybe just a foul tip.

Hapoo: didn't know about the ui makers, would explain a lot though.

Cool toy. Has it been out a while? If so maybe it came out when USB 1.1 was the standard. Hopefully there will be a 2.0 coming out soon.

this is a nice unit. i like extra features that arent included with the ipod like the recording feature and fm radio. though im not a fan of fm modulation, the MyFi feature would be cool for cars so you dont have wires running all over the place. the only downsides i see to this are the use of usb 1.1 and that the 28mb version doesnt have any removable memory. how does the 20gb player compare in size and weight to the ipod?

i also love the orange color with the black and grey case. it would go great with the orange displays on the black dash in my bimmer

Well here are the dimensions of the neuros 20GB (Ignore the 128. . . useless thing imo but is smaller than the 20GB).

Height: 5.3"
Width: 3.1"
Depth: 1.3"
Weight: 9.4oz.

And here are the specs of the different ipods, but I'm guessing you want to know between the 20GBs

20GB model
Height: 4.0 in
Width: 2.4 in
Depth: 0.84 in
Weight: 7.2 oz

5GB model
Height: 4.0 in
Width: 2.4 in
Depth: 0.78 in
Weight: 6.5 oz

10GB model
Height: 4.0 in
Width: 2.4 in
Depth: 0.72 in
Weight: 6.5 oz

So its a leetle porkier all around. But not that much and considering how much more it can do, not that bad trade off on size, pretty sure it could still fit in most pockets. Just wish it had firewire . . . oh well, my quest for the perfect mp3 player goes on, minidisc will keep me happy for now.

years ago i used to work in an engraving shop pur oldest machines had the good ol' fashion orange and black display. The machine was 10+ years old and the display was burned in on parts of teh screen. This display reminds me of that. i never liked it.

blue and white would be cool, or something like that, but the orange just isnt my thing.

the built in fm modulator is cool, but i wonder what it does for the battery life. I can live without the radio because i never really listen to the radio anymore, so i can live without it.

edit:
heres what i am talking about

Cant believe that they would be realeasing a new device like that without some type of high speed connection. I mean come on its not like firewire is a new technology. I had to pull 3 gigs of data from one machine and transfer it to another using an external HD w USB2.0 and 1394. The source had USB 1.1 and it took about 75 mins to get all of the data. The other machine used 1394 and it took about 7 mins. Its not like the USB 2.0 chip would cost much more than the 1.1 chip. Oh well... it was a good effort.
