Normal Temps?

are these "normal" temps for my cpu? i have an athlon tb 1.3 with 512 mb of ram. my system temp is 40 c, my cpu temp is 60 c, and my hd temp is 56 c. The last two seem sort of high, any suggestions? thanks derek

what is your cooling like? case fans, cpu fan, powersupply fans, front ventalation? The CPU is really hot in my opinion. I am on a 1600+ and its only 37 c under a slight load.

I'll tell you what, I have the same setup except I have the 1.4. I used Arctic Silver grease, a Thermaltake Volcano-7 w/ 7K fan, 1 intake & 1 aux. exhaust fans and round IDE & floppy cables. The best I have her runnin is @ CPU-53c, MB-27c and in the summer forget about it so I just live with it, but I built it a year ago now and its never givin me problems.

PS....I don't know DF well, but does he hate AMD or does he just enjoy to bust our chops. I've observed him make some sly comments. Either way, I roll on the floor every time because they're very clever and likely true. :laugh2:

But I do have alot of friends with AMD systems and they all run a "tad hot", hence that is my normal "response" to their "cheaper/faster for the $" argument.

As a matter of fact, I had one friend who was plannin' this elaborate water cooling solution for his Athlon T-Bird and I asked him "how long will it be before the 'chicken soup' is on".

LMAO, I'll just revert to my first encounter w/ DF! It took me a while to get it then I was dyin'.

BTW... which AMD processor do you have?

I have the 1.4 T-bird..., well at least most of one. I dropped a Dragon Orb on it and took a chunk outta the corner of the wafer. Still ok though.
