My motherboard has 8 ram slots!!! *PICS*

For the non-believers.

I know that the slots at the top of the mobo are ISA, but can someone tell me what kind of slot the one above the ram slots are?

The specs of this beast:

I *think* they're both ISA. The ones on the top are 16-bit VLB (vesa local bus) slots and the bottom one is a plain jane 8-bit ISA slot.

Wow...I remember those. It's hard to believe about 5 years ago the graduate computer lab I was working at was still using those slots. And that I had to find a company to upgrade all those computers to 32 megs of ram. Let me tell ya I chipped many a finger nail trying to take out the old memory with the newer memory. They had metal "retention" clips that chipped my finger nail constantly.

yeah, I had a pII server board back then

it had 8 slots, and could hold up to 1 gig of memory...
man, it would prolly still be usable if it were ATX (instead of AT), and if it didn't get burned from a power surge...

I think so, for the same reason why old junkie cars with V8's and reinforced steel bumpers are called "beasts"

I remember taking one of those and throwing out of the window whilst I was driving.. then backing up and running it over.. All of that technology and intelligence, but it doesn't have the common sense to move..

nothin beats my old Tandy 1200 HD tho... 256k of ram and no slots for ram.. 5 meg HD.. woo hoo.. that mysteriously blew up.. mind boggling.. I did see some kind of flame approaching it just before explosion though..weird. I think it had some assisted suicide deal or something..
