SMC Wireless Router on Deals Page
Does anyone have any experience with this router? (It's model #SMC2404WBR.)
I've read comments on the net complaining about the distance limitations of some of SMC's wireless products. Also, does anyone know if it's easy to cascade this to another switch? I'll need more than 3 hardwired ports. There is nothing on SMC's web site that talks about uplinking to another switch. Thanks! |

You will be fine with the additional switches plugged into the built in 3-port. Never heard it called cascading before. I've done it with a little older SMC in my apartment, with 3 linksys 5-port switches.
We have SMC products in our office and the performace is about 80% of the claimed distance. THat is through walls, but not through floors. They claim 1155 feet on this router. I'd say you hsould be good. linky: http://www.smc.com/drivers_downloads...2404WBR_DS.pdf
