LCD questions
What makes an LCD (flat panel) monitor good?
Something about contrast ratios? I have NO clue... Thanks guys |

Well the contrast ratio helps in color reproduction and clairty. You'll also need to look at the candela power or nits for how bright it can get. And also real important is the response. I think its something like under 25ms is good for gaming and movies anything over that will have some blurry looks.

Contrast ratio is the judgment between the lightest light and darkest dark that the LCD can produce. It seems that every maker has their own "contrast ratio" meaning that you really have to shop, see and compare.

I sure hope there is nothing wrong with the 2000FP and that is why dell discontinued them.. i have on in the mail right now.
anyone have the specs on this?? I know Apex and Leon said it's great, but just how great is it??? /me wishes he had enough for the Sony 22 inch LCD hehe.. |

higher the beter for contrast ratios. I've seen lcds at around 350:1 that are decent looking and for response like I said, under 25ms is great for video and games.
